I think you are outta luck MF.....there are no good B & T's left that see fit to open up that early in Summer time for cryin' out loud let alone in the winter for the few ice fisherman who may venture out. Sorry.

Most Decathlon Sports stores carry them.
There's one in Hanover, right off exit 13 (heading west off exit)
I picked up some there last night (open until 9:00 I believe.)
They are in the yellow/white pages.

Has anyone ever used feeder goldfish through the ice with any luck?
Tried them two weeks ago when I ran into the same problem. No luck though. Just wondering if I'm wasting my time with them.
I'm thinking Petco.

Toms in Middleboro or Bob's in Taunton. I'm not sure when they open though. G&R's in Kingston opens at 7 am. I already have mine for tomorrow.

I don't know about Mass., but here in NJ it's illegal to use goldfish or any other "non-native" species. Check with your game warden before you use them to be sure.

Just got back online. Picked up a couple dozen at Decathlon like FishermanTim said. Ran over there after work.
Having trouble keeping the little guys alive though. Split them up into two buckets and have been changing the water.
Anybody got any tips?

Get them air. A small fish tank aerator will do it.

Don't change water too often, alot of chlorine in tap water.
Change a little at a time.

You can probably pick up an aerator at Walmart, Kmart or Wallgreens.
As far a changing water, I picked up a relatively inexpensive aqaurium filter that can handle up to 10 gallons and hangs on the back of or attach inside a bucket. It has a hanging clip and suction cups. It's a Whisper microfilter, and runs about $15.00 and does a good job of keeping the water clean.
I have 2 five gallon buckets that I use for shiners during the winter, and I also have an old trash barrel, about 10 gallons, that I fill with tap water and let sit for at least 24 hours to allow the chlorine to leach out. I've had shiners last for almost a month just by keeping tabs on the water and the filter.
My ultimate goal is to get a decent size circular tub about at least a foot deep that will allow the sjiners more swimming room.
Don't forget to feed them every other day or so, so that they can keep up their strength. I just crush up some goldfish flakes really fine and give them about 1/2 teaspoon worth.
If they don't eat it all, you'll just need to keep track of the water quality and the filter.
I hope this helps.
