NIBA

I am not a member, but attended my first meeting on March 3rd. Great talk on shark fishing by Capt. Tom King out of Scituate. They just started a web page, but not much on it yet.

www.nibaonline.org

Apparentally the club has been around a while, but just elected a new president who is trying to re-invigorate the group. They seem like a good bunch and I plan to join. They meet the first Thursday of the month at the Marshfield Yacht Club. Although they meet in Marshfield, existing members come from all around.

I cannot remember the new president's name but there is a phone number listed in the "Coming Events" section of the March issue of "On The Water". I don't want to post it, but send me a PM.

FYI - "New Inlet" refers to the mouth of the North River. Many years ago the North and South Rivers emptied into the ocean in the Rexhame area of Marshfield where the public beach is. A storm in the 40's or 50's broke open the beach at Humarock in Scituate where the existing mouth is. Hence, "New Inlet".

"Time and tides wait for no man", ... and neither do the fish.

NIBA

I'm a member of NIBA. Nice bunch of guys. I only get to half the meeting with work and all. It's a small club, about 60 guys. At meetings anywhere from 10 to 30 people will show. We have some interesting guess speakers and you can pick up some local info. Most of the guys are from Marshfield, Sciuate, Pembroke area. Some boat the SS, some the cape. Nice to get you out of the house once a month.

The current President is Skip Cornell. Nice guy. You;; probably see him at the MSBA show selling his HOT Jigs and squid bars.

We meet at the Marshfield YC the first Thursday of the month. Don't have numbers handy.

Just like posting on this board, you meet some good guys from your area.

Yes, we will see him I just booked him in

Unfortunatly, he doesn't have anyone to man a N.I.B.A. Booth...Maybe some of the members should step up and promote their club. This is a great opportunity for NIBA to get some membership...come on guys those who can do, do...............

Skip Cornell President of the organization asked me to do a presentation on Cod Fishing. Of course I said yes with the club being made up of many individuals who promote recrational angling who will bre in your corner regarding recreational issues. I intend on joining and hope others do the same.

Sincerley,

Dave
