Weymouth Herring Run Clean-up

Does anyone know which day the Weymouth Herring Run Clean-up is? I thought it was this weekend, but I haven't found any supporting documentation.

herring run

The Weymouth Herring Run Committee will be holding its Annual Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 2 this year and will be meeting at Herring Run Park on the corner of Broad and Commercials Streets at 9 a.m., rain or shine.

The committee will be cleaning up trash, cutting brush and removing debris. Those interested in helping out should dress for work along the river. Last year there were 50 volunteers despite the cold and removed about one ton (2000 lbs.) of materials. Once again, Dunkin Donuts will provide refreshments. The Herring arrived a few days after the clean-up last year and about 125,000 fish made their way up-river to Whitman's Pond, thanks to everyone who helped out.

If you have any questions, please call 781-749-0189 or email < gmloring@verizon.net >.

Chris,

Are you suggesting we get breakfast first? Are you going?

I believe people meet up for Breakfest at Stoksy's (sp) in Jackson Sq. first for a Shmoke and a pankcake, then hike up the run from there...I will not be going, I am maning the MSBA booth at the RISSA show in RI on Sat...
