Nice Larry, but too much chingola for me, call me a cheap bastage, but, I'm a firm follower of Keep It Simple Stupid.... (and cheap, too )
Spade bit and a jig, that will work, when I get a round to it.

The 1 inch is just right for the poppers I have been working on and the 3/4 will be great for the smaller ones I have in mind!

They ain't cheap but you can make mouths with "Deming" drill bits. Take a look a the mouths on some of the poppers from some of the top commercial builders and I bet they have the same shape.

slip....certain poppers don't have full round depth,,,more of a shallow dish.....in other words if the mouth is 1" wide you need like a 1 3/16th bit to get a shallow cup. then there's blue streak poppers that have a deep cup but need to b large because of the dia of the plug itself....so by using 1 1/8-1 3/16-1 1/4 spade bits ground in different round curves, you can match the plugs of old.

BOAT fish do count.
