RI - resident beach passes/access question

My family pitched in and got a small cottage in RI last year. I am on the title and on the utility bills. Can I purchase a resident access sticker for the state beaches? I pay RI taxes and can prove it. I just don't know if my car plates are MA, will the honor a RI resident sticker?

RIJimmy,
My folks are from MA and have a place in Narragansett. They get the resident price on the passes by either showing the tax bill or water bill. Any of the utility bills should work.
