RI shoreline
I was pre-researching some areas on RI for an upcoming summertime fishing expedition and I found some nice areas. I know you cant see much from a topo map but these areas look fishy!!! Nice rocky shoreline with even better drop offs...mmmmm. Got to love topozone.com
Now I need to visit these places to see if there is access for fishing.

Good to see you doing the work to find spots the old fashion way. Research , scouting , time on the water.
I don't know if there are more spots than fisherman but i do know there are more fishing spots than parking spots so good luck with the hard part , finding a place to leave your car.

saltheart is right, the biggest problem is finding parking, in many cases that's how they circumvent the shore access to fishermen. the just make entire areas no parking hoping you won't walk to the spots. like they did in barrington.

Need to get an Oxcart and a pitchfork so I can use my rights to collect seaweed for fertilizer without having to walk. I could even bring along my fishing rods.

I have always used topozone (when available) for finding spots over the years but I heard that there was some good fishin' down there so I just did my standard research techniques for finding new spots.
I started at a spot and worked my way up the coast looking at the different depths and shoreline. I then look at my mapping software to see if there is a nearby street or parking access and if there are non I see how far I wouold have to walk. I think RI has nicer shoreline than the cape does. I am no RI expert but it does look mighty fishy.
I think a trip to RI in in store for me this weekend....WOO HOO!

The key here is WALKING. There aren't many parking spots available near the good shore spots in RI, especially Newport and Narragansett, but the guys on the canal solved that issue by converting bikes into moblie shoreboats, with rodholders, bait buckets, etc. and they make getting to the far away spots alot easier. The only thing it does not help is when you finally get those two monsters, and have to make 2 trips........ a problem I'd be happy to have!

Isnt there a bike that is able to ride on the beach? I believe it has wide tires and a certain gear ratio...

It seems these days we do more walking to get to spots than ever before
especially here on Aquidneck Island with the astronomical amount of land being bought up and houses being built.
Nowadays I tend to fish a few select spots because I can get to them with relative ease and still for the most part be away from prying eyes. Not the best strategy for catching a monster but does allow for increased fishing time which equals peace and serenity time most of the time.
Did I just use time three times in one sentence?
TIME................
