Replacing Tip Top on an Ugly Stik

I have a small ugly stick that I bought last year for my daughter, and it needs a new tip top. The shop I brought it to today couldnt get it off --- heated and pulled with pliers, but it wouldnt come. I bought the tip top anyway and will try myself.

Is there a trick to the ugly stik? I'll cut it off if I have to, but something doesnt seem right with it.

Had to cut mine off. I think they use some kind of epoxy. Try a propane torch, maybe that will be hot enough.

Try soaking the tip in hot water, just under boiling. If that doesn't work cut the blank just below the old tip and replace with a little larger tip. Using to much heat will damage the blank causing future blank failure.
