Scalloper fined $250 THOUSAND for ....

I was watching CNN just a few minutes ago and the ticker at the bottom of the screen displayed that a Mass scalloper was fined 250 THOUSAND smackers for being caught in an off limits protected zone by satelite. Haven't been able to find anything else on it...

I am all for the guy getting in trouble for harvesting scallops illegally but even without knowing all the details $250,000 seems a bit excessive. It will get lowered in court i'm guessing. I wonder what else he did for a fine that big.

The Patriot Ledger stated that he got caught in 1998. They have satelite tracking beacons on their boats by law. He was tracked by a satelite , and a Coast Guard Cutter. Caught red handed. He also lost his federal permits for good.

A fine that big means he's probably a repeat offender. They almost always are.Sink his boat. That's the only way you'll get someone like that stop.
