off the wall question..

if you were fishing in the 40's what model Penn squidder would you be using if you were to be using a 12 foot glass pole???

a friend of mine wants to make up a classic 40's squidding stick.

If he wants it to be authentic, don't make the rod 12'.

9-10 feet was pretty standard then---I don't know if any brands other than Harnells were available yet.

Thanks guys I will tell him.

His father was washed off Pt Judith back in the late 40's He wants to get a setup like his father used, and fish there on the anniversary of his drowning.

sad stuff.
