Oh What A Night...

Last night, big tide and full moon, I had the best night of striper fishing I have ever had. Landed three fish that were just over 36 inches. There was a school of shad running around where I was at with cows s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g them down. I used a 6 inch Storm Shad, jerked a few times to make it look injured, and let it flutter down. When it got through the "smaller" 26 to 30 inchers, the big ones would slam it. Lost the biggest fish of the night when I snagged a 12 inch shad and live lined it. HUGE fish took it. Could not turn it, very fast current where I was at. Stopped it when I tightened the drag (the spool was getting pretty small), for about a five seconds. I think then she realized she was hooked... two more seconds into a hard run, that was all she wrote... gone . I hope no damage done to her. All other fish released.

See you out there,
Ron

Counting down the hours until the tide turns and starts to run out. Only a matter of time. I fished from midnight until just after two.

See you out there,

Piscataqua River. Across from the Shipyard. I will be out there again soon. Hoping that tonight is like last night, but not holding my breath. I am happy for one night like that as I am moving west on the 8th of July. So, only a few more days to live it up catching these fish. Washington State has fish, but it is nothing like we have here. Getting the boat trailer ready for the trip out west, hoping that we have no problems going that far on a trailer. Wish the boat had sold so I could just move up in size out there without the hassel and haggling of a trade in. And, yes, those fish count... they were not boat fish. But BOAT FISH COUNT, too. Can't land dwellers and boat anglers get along????? Not in a million seasons....

See you out there,
Ron

Looks like the word got out... last night... four friends showed up. Great White bait. Four seals. Needless to say, no bait and no fish in the area.

See you out there,
Ron
