One Fish, Two fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

If you can't find bluefish on Cape Cod this time of year my friend you shouldn't be fishing.... Or you need a refresher course.
Pretty much every beach on the South Side has been hot for Blues, thats where the warmest water is. If you want Bass go to the North side = colder water

Or, wherever you are when you make your first cast with the dead one you spent 45 minutes rigging until it was "just perfect".

Or, where you make your first cast with the $7 9" Storm Shad.

I was on vacation last week right on Popponestt Beach, just east of South Cape. I fished every dawn and dusk and caught bluefish without fail all from shore, all using topwater. The whole stretch from east falmouth to cotuit have been good to me.

Good luck and have fun.

Who's against catching blues? Not me....lotsa fun with light tackle.

I think many hardcore guys don't like catching them because it takes little skill to catch 'em or to find 'em....

I won't pass up catching fish, but they tear the $#!+ out of your gear. They can $*&^$* some eels (usually on the first cast) and can destroy a whole bag of soft plastics in the same number of casts....
....and they do screw up your gear...

blah... cheap tins....

Point Jude 2oz butterfish tin when your fishing for blues throw on 90# 12+" steel leader... it has the best wobble i have ever seen... extremely deadly when fished with a med retrieve.... also cuts thru 20mph winds like nothing with nice accuracy...

Why use wire leaders??

Use a cheap plug with a single hook on the tail end of it, keep pressure on the line and you shouldn't have any chaffing problems, unless two blues hit the plug at once from opposite directions and cut your line off, but hey in that case you lost a $3 lure. Tie on a new snap and throw another cheap plug at them. They are the dumbest fish in the world and will hit anything, but when i fish for them i try to loose as least gear as possible to them, and smokin blues is a great way to have them.
