Great Weekend Report - Of a different kind

It was a complete blow out for me. With the wind at a pretty constant 20 knots, I didn't venture out of the harbor. It wasn't worth subjecting the kids to the abuse...

But I had a fantastic night fishing Saturday night...and didn't even hook up. The kids and I crawled all around the rocks at the entrance to West Falmouth. We cast at everything that moved.....mostly waves, birds and seaweed...

After a while I just sat back and watched the kids rig worms, get stuck on rocks, figure out how to get unstuck, pull weed off the hooks, tangle and get untangled all the lines, the kids picked which rocks to cast from...They were in charge. They had a ball! They made tons of mistakes. They learned a lot. And Dad had fun just sitting back watching it all....

Boy what a great night. On the walk home I said, "Guys, even though we didn't catch anything, I still had a great time." My son replied "Dad that was great. Casting is 75% of the fun anyway..."

What a great sport....
