Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

Enter the Fish

Mr. Sandman:

Mass Division of Marine Fisheries has an annual season long Fishing Derby.

Check out their website to see the minimum weight to enter a particular species of fish. Looks like the youngster caught that one. He can enter it in the Junior Division. Silver cups are presented to the winners at the Worcester Hunting and Fishing Show.

My son won one year and it was quite a thrill for him.

Westport Jeff,

Oh, my kids are well aware of the silver bowls and have a few to their name as well. It is thrilling for them. He entered the fish and is aware the catagory is vacant at the moment but is realistic as it will probably take a 10+#er to place by the end of the year. His was 6.9#, you should see his name on the board next week sometime. Even if you don't win the bowl you get a nice pin and they put them on their lucky hat.

We work hard to get on the fluke list...my wife and son were recently bumped off of this years list (for fluke)...we have to turn up the heat again this year and post some big double digit fish...it is going to be tough but I have a few more spots to flush out before the season it done.
