Crafty Angler in the ProJo

The Angler's Art owned by Chuck and Johanna Vietry made the the front page of the sports section in the Providence Journal this morning. Good article and great prints! Nice to see that business is really taking off for you both.

Thanks, guys -

Tom Meade called and came by Wednesday afternoon to talk to me for an article about The Angler's Art and I didn't know it was going to appear in the Sunday ProJo until yesterday. Although I've been reading Tom's column for years I'd never had the chance to meet him - he's a helluva nice guy and we talked for a couple of hours or more - I was a little stunned to see it on the front page of the Sports section this morning.

We've been doing an Open House with our Gallery on weekends through the summer and today we had quite a bit of traffic come through as well as emails and calls as a result of the article.

I always get nervous if I know I'm going to be photographed or interviewed - not like that happens a lot - but to top it all off, the morning before the interview I slipped on a dog toy in the office, done a full gainer and ended up in the ER to find I'd fractured a bone in my foot and sprained it as well - so mostly I was just hoping that I didn't come off sounding like I'd hit my head, too.

Deep thoughts....geeez....maybe I did hit my head.....

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

havent read it yet but congrats crafty!!

now about the dog toy.. ya know, that would not be a very noble way for a surfcaster to meet his maker.

now it it was a @$# toy, that would be another story
