Where are the "west grounds" ? In LI sound?

I am actually going scup fishing tomorrow, that is right, my target species is the almighty porgy. I need to find a couple giant scup. I have a couple spots to try but I am not a scupmiester. Keep in mind:
"RECREATIONAL SCUP FISHERY TO CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2005"

Vic,
what Sept 1st scup regs? The regs were adopted last winter/spring and I was very involved with the process at the RIMFAC level. It's 25 fish per person per day over 10.5 inches and the season closes at the end of October. Party/charter boats have the same size limit but are allowed 60 fish per person per day after Sept 1st until the season closes on October 31st.

Vic,
Not that I heard. Where did you hear that? The Party/Charter boats are just going to start sailing for scup this week or next.
