Agreed....but didn't I say this was going to be the reaction from a lot of people a few days ago in another post I started where I got ripped by so many people?
I think MANY people felt this way a few days after the hurricane hit while nothing was being done for those poor people......I wouldn't say it is a black versus white issue, as much as it is a "wealthy" versus "poor people" issue.....it's just that in New Orleans the vast majority of the poor people are Black Americans.
The wealthy had the means to get out before the hurricane hit....so all that were left were the poor (read -- mostly Black). Again, I'll ask the same question....if this hurricane had hit Beverly Hills or some other "wealthy" city, how quick would the government had responded? Pretty damn quick IMO -- given that the politicians need these wealthy people to fund their next election campaigns, and can't afford to piss off their potential campaign contributors........... :-(
