?'s about lexan

I've seen a bunch of hand mades that have used lexan for lips and I've read that the lexan stuff is very strong.

Is there anyplace local that carries it or do you have to order it on the net?

I've been working on a prototype that may work well with that kind of lip and I want to experiment with different lip sizes..

Also, I've got a pile of plexiglass. I think its 1/8" thick. Would that be strong enough to use for lips or would it break ? Hate to go thru all the work just to snap the lips off.

As for working on a protype, is the weight of plexiglass/lexan comparable so I could mess around with the plexi first to see if I can get it to swim the way want before buying the lexan?
