Source for Bucktails
My Dad pours and ties his own bucktails and is looking for a source for tails. Right now he is paying 6 dollars and change for one at a local tackle shop and asked me to ask you guys if you knew of anywhere cheaper.
Thanks

You gotta see them first! Some real junk is shipped sight unseen. try your local suppliers first. Sometimes cheaper is not better and that holds true with bucktails. Been there done that!

I was pleasantly surprised by Staminainc. Long and soft bucktails for 2.95 , I think.

Stamina has some decent tails. I used to use them alot but buy them wholesale now. You want the nice supple one's that don't have real thick hair. If I am looking for a tail for a fly I will spend 20 minutes inspecting every tail on the rack at the flyshop EVEN if I know they usually have pretty good stuff.
Picking a bucktail is like picking a fine wine, there's real good ones and some that suck.
Remember to always discard the bottom third of the tail too that's where the coarser hair is that will flair when you tie it.
