$$$ Gouge
Went to an open house at a tackle shop in Wakefield on saturday.Nice shop,I had never been there. In the tent area they had some "special" deals. With the herring unavailable in Mass this year I picked up a couple of Tsunami 9" mullets. This item was marked down from 8.25 to 6.50.Went to the new location of a different store today in Newport. This store is also one of our sponsors.Their regular price was 3.99. oke:
OUCH at least they could have kissed me first.

Thats a simple case of "buyer bend over and cough."

I cant speak for wildwood officially, but i believe tsumani and storm recently started a price war with eachother and just lowered thier prices. That being said, if the guys from wildwood ordered those plastics in the fall from a Local distributer at 5 or 5 bucks a pop, they would be loosing big$$$ if they had to drop thier prices to match the current pricing.

If I had a shop, I would rather lose a couple hundred in one weekend, then lose a few customers and future potential sales of boucoup bucks. I know that I have spent thousands in only a few shops, most near me, and one or two good ones that are sponsers here.

Yep. That's how I look at it. Besides, cost on those things hasn't really changed since they came out and they only come from one distributor so I know what they cost. If they discounted them another $3 they'd STILL be making money.
My money would be on a mistake in their pricing, I just can't believe they'd intentionally be so bold. They're supposedly smart business men from NY or something; they must know consumers are more price concious then ever because it's this easy to compare pricing. Then again, I could be wrong.

Sorry for the pricing mistake, we spent many hrs pricing and that one was priced as a storm. We would never price gouge, the store is locally owned and operated, a family business that fishes and hunts, we pride ourselves on competive prices and great customer service. once again I am sorry for the mistake ROB manager wildwood outfitters

Love 'em. Hooks can be a little borderline at times much like a Storm though. There is a version of the 9" that has an 11/0 shark hook, if you stick a fish with that she's NOT going to straighten it out.
