outriggers
If your boat didn't have them, how would you mount them on a CC?
The boat is a 28' matermarine with a soft bimini top, no rocketlaunchers.

Just for a visual, not actual boat.

They make them that are atached to the t-top. I think that picture had outriggers on it. Is that the type of boat you have, or want, or need, or need and want?
|
thats why they call it fishing not catching

you could get gunnel mount but it kinda takes the walkarround part out of walkarround.

First put on a t-top then mount the outriggers on the t-top, might also want to add a rocket launcher on the back of the t-top.

I have the gunnel mounts and like Freak says they do get in the way. They work for me as often as I use them. I don't put them on the boat until late July and if I'm not looking for tuna I leave them at the dock. Mine came with the boat but if I were to be rigging a new boat I would get the T-top mount adjustable type.

I use a set of Terminator rod holders that put your rods at 90 degree angles, cost effective alternative.

SB,
Doesn't even come close to being and alternative to 18 ft riggers.

criss' boat has a cheesey framed t-top....
i bet it could support two swept out, clamp on rodholders up there for a little more distance. the drags are pretty loose on the ones we put up in the rocket launcher anyway as it's next to impossible to get the rods out if there tight on a fish. trying to ballance on one foot and hold on with one hand while trying to get a tight rod out is tough even for tall guys. but they will work up there. and alot cheaper than either option.
maybe put them on the sides more toward the center of the top so it won't leverage the whole t-top down?
my buds got gunnel mounts, mounted up high on the side of his hard-top very clever and functional..there in side clamp rodholders. tough to describe but they work good..

Mine are 22 foot long, but they are waay too much of a rigger for a center console. The ones most guys run off the t-tops are 16-18 fett long.
