USCG Helo crashed

In Mckinleyville CA while conducting a rescue of 2 people in the surf. The second helo on scene recovered 1of the bodies the rescue swimmer the other ashore.

CG Crew OK.

Wow is all I can say, training pays of in these situations.

That I dont know. I do beleive they are doing engine upgrades.
When they first got these things I was on the ship that did the Flight op test phase.

A crane removed it nightly from the flight deck.

60's are the way to go but they dont fit so good on their platforms so as a deployable resource the 65 will probably be around for awhile.
Why French? Why English engines in the 110's? Why Volvo's Lobbyists I guess.

On a different avaition note when Katrina hit all (almost)helos went to assit so here they had I think Michigan AirSta and Oh Canada CG cover the cape. The Kanooks had a hopped up Huey that would zoom.
