Click on a link problem

I have an e/mail that I got that reads for me to click on a (very long) link below to go to that link to activate an account.
But I click on it, (laft or right)
and I can't copy the link !
What am I doing wrong???
It also has a different link for aol users, I have Verizon dsl

Arrow if ya wanna go

copy and paste the link to a text file then shorten it to its basic

core (by backspacing -backwards editing ) to wherever it goes to the

. com .net .org .gov (what-ever file extension) and then
go there and manually navigate to what your supposed to go see from there.

i hope that makes sense.
