Skin jig puzzle cracked
Smokey and I spent all day working at it but we have pretty much solved all the problems with making skin jigs in less time so we should be able to make a lot more this year. We also eliminated the external crimp so no soldering is needed. If you want skin jigs I suggest you send me an email and get on the list. They are all 4 OZ skin jigs. They are $35 a dozen or $20 for 6 or $10 for 3. We sold every one we made last year. We had to make a special emergency batch at the end of last year just to keep JPowers supplied late into the fall. I anticipate we will make 15 dozen this spring and 5 dozen of them are already spoken for. We may or may not make more in the fall. Let me know if you want some at
Saltheart@striped-bass.com.

I think I've got enough lead in my house now that Superman would have a hard time looking thru to see what I'm up to.
If the EPA ever finds out - I'll need an environmental lawyer.
Saltheart/Smokey jigs are killers. Order now boys, they ain'ta gonna last. Trust me.

How do you rig it. Is it for just for skins or can you use whole dead eels? I was thinking of using dead eels on a 3oz black jig head for fishing the Watch Hill reefs as it is hard to get an eel down in this current.

Saltheart, I'm sure you are aware of my living situation (MO.) I will be home for a month of fishing.
1) I will be home on May 16. Will the jigs have been shipped/ready by then?
2) Maybe you could post or e-mail with your address so we can float you some cash.
3) provided they will be at my house in MA when I get home I would like six of those lovely jigs.......

Scotch Bonnet , for this particular jig you skin the eels then thread them up the hook and tie them on around the end of the jig. There is a little groove that goes all the way around to hold the string. People us floss or string or thin mono or even electrical ties.

Ok the 15 dozen are all gone (and then some) so that's it till we see how the mold looks after almost 200.
If you just posted here that you want some , please email me at
Saltheart@striped-bass.com
so I don't have to go searching for email addresses. Some people don't have their emails in their profiles. I'm going to deal with all the people who sent emails first then I'll get to trying to contact those who signed up but didn't send an email as instructed.

Saltheart,
Can I "store" your skin jig mold for the summer ? You certainly wouldn't want it cluttering up your house while you can't use it since all your spare time is going to be used up fishing
I can already sense your answer

Saltheart I did not send an email as instructed because I can't afford to take a chance that I would take a beating for buying more" stuff I don't need"
Email leaves a trail, you know how it is. That is why I was PM ing you , so if we can, please don't email me ( PM me instead)about me buying more (crap I don't need) I am on the edge already with a fishing vacation in 4 weeks without her, I am lucky to pull that off, I'll tell ya. I'll post pics when I return and a report. I can't wait

Thanks guys, Crap was her word not mine. I usually let it go right out the other ear, you know. I am in trouble with the cookie jar thing and I'm afraid I will never get ahead unless I come up with something big, and soon. I guess I have to re-direct some of my creativity from plug building to making her happy. Maybe Ca$h will help do it, or jewelry that always works.
Smokey, grannyknot, that's a good one
