Hi Dave,

I`m torn between the excitement of a new tourney with cool prizes, ( I have never entered any fishing tournament), and the fact that Striped Bass have to be killed to enter. The ill feeling is that this will hurt the Striper population.

On a personal level, if I enter, I would only keep and report a large bass over 40#. At the same time I realize I would release even this one fish if I was lucky enough to catch it, if I was not in the contest.

Magnify this by all the possible contestants and it doesn`t look good for the Striped Bass.

Mike

Good health and family

Ok...have a good show.

I`m winging it here so forgive me if I`m way off.

If it cannot be catch and release. How about eliminating the total pounds category and allow each entrant only 5 to 10? total fish that can be entered for the entire tourney. Would this still be a problem because it will target large?

Then award me the boat and the suv for coming up with this idea

Get rid of the boat and SUV prizes and only charge 10 or 15 bucks max.

Put a cap on the number of fish that can be entered by a club per year so that one club cannot run up their points by catching alot of 25-20 pound fish and take the cup. It would be more competitive that way and maybe not kill as many fish.
