It takes a giant squid to catch a giant fluke
Were these from Newport?

Last year I got my first squad April 13th. usually by the second week of april they start to show with the biggest runs a week after the start and they stay till the water gets too warm for em.
As for location im sure their are some in newport but due to the crowds and heavy population of the area I avoid it like the plauge. My spot is at a "point" on the east sode of the bay

I've seen squid jigs (oval lures with a circle of prongs on one end)but I've never fished them. Is the weight of the jig all you use to get them down? Is it better to fish deep water or shallow water? Do you gently jig these? Can you bait the jigs, if so with what? Any tips on how to catch squid would be appreciated.
I'll be fishing off falmouth alot this year and would like to try and get some squid.

a few ways that I know of are .....
1. left click and drag to highlight the link, either at the beginning or the end of it....if your timing is bad, and you keep opening it up....try the next one
2. Click the link, when that screen opens up, left click once in the title bar where it appears..when it turns blue, (selected)..right click and copy...then paste it where you want it.....
3. ...the third way......TYPE IT IN!!!!...
