Exclamation Urban fishing at its finest...

We cruised up the bay a couple of days ago and I snapped these shots of some famous RI landmarks and great fishing areas as well.

Anybody ever fish any of these spots?

I can hear the last 2 on foggy days and see the light from the end of my street. I have not fished it very much but I also don't think it's as wonderfull a season long spot for big fish as some have said. A lot of the locals I've talked to that fish there consider a big fish something over keeper size. While bigger fish do come in there and the fishing there in September, especially the blues blitzing the shoreline, can be phenominal, the local "Big Fish" on average may be quite small when compared to the "Big Fish" of South County or the Newport area - just my opinion.... I've met a couple people that used to get Big Fish by all standards in the area but it hasn't been like that in a decade plus.

Now there are a couple places close to there which I feel produce nice fish within 2 miles of that light for the shore and boat guys .

John,

If we are thinking of the same spot, it gave up a 62 pound striper from shore! The tog fishing off these spots can be very good...time, tide, bait and season are all important considerations here...as in most "hot spots".

Mike - that is near a pint, right? J.J. Got some big fish just a bit SW of there in a, uhm cove, but even' he's said that it's died off in recent years.... And I think we're talking the same spot less than a mile from my house. Now a 62 pounder is a rarity anywhere but I'm not convinced that big fish are as likely to hang there as they would in other shore spots closer to the ocean.... But I'm relatively new to the area...
