Raymarine DS-600
Looking to upgrade. Can anyone share an opinion of the Raymarine DS-600 Digital Fishfinder. It's pricy for fishfinder only but maybe the technology is worth it.
Thanks in advance

I have two and really like it. Very accurate and the screen is awesome. It's very easy to use and set how you like it. The other one is brand new in the box which you can buy if you decide on this one. I have the transom ducer which works well, I might swith to the thru-hull at some point. I'm not answering this just to pedal my back up fishfinder, I think the thing is great. The next size down is a great one too but the extra screen size is a big plus. They are pricey but worth it in my opinion.

How much do you want for your fishfinder?
Does it have a thru hull or transom trasducer?

It has the transom 'ducer and I'm looking to get $700. It's still in the box. If I don't sell it in the next week I'm going to put it on my SOT Kayak. I've seen them for around 760 and up...I know only 60 bucks saved or so but the price is firm. Ideally I'd like to find the smaller version for the Yak so let me know when you have time. I'm going to Fenway today so I'll be away from the computer for today and most of tomorrow. Thanks and talk to you soon.

Now I know whether its actually fish or just noise.
Views in all light, bright colors, decent size screen.

DS-600
Todd: I wanted a thru hull transducer and not a transom mount so I bought one thru PlanetGps.Net. It's installed and boat splashes soon. Thanks for the offer anyways.

The lack of clutter to me is amazing and the size of the red blob(s) indicates the size of the air blatter of the fish. (Bigger is better!)
IMO this was a real advancement in rec fish finders. If you see anything on the screen there is actually something there, there are no bogus readings.
My next GPS may be the Northstar or Simrad but my FF will be remain Raymaine, no question.
