I will be interested in hearing the report but I seriously doubt that there is much going on there yet.

UPDATE

Ok I went flyfishing today down off Plum Island Point. Nothing around No one else was fishing either. So as it stands in my "reports" no fish yet, but Surfland states about 10 schoolies have been caught so far. Biggest at 24in. All these fish were caught using worms & clams. I will keep you posted.

It can ONLY get better as time goes on

Patience amigo! Even if this is an earlier season the fish won't REALLY show up there until mid-may. Try the beachfront on warm days at sunset +/- 3 hrs of high tide. Concentrate around the church area and fish each "hump" both out in front and diagonally into the surf with 1/2 chartreuse mega bait bucktail jigs that kay (surfland) has. jig those puppies with a twitch as each wave comes in. One twitch will keep line out of wash and two twitch make bucktail look like helpless little fishy in the wash. Try a chart leftys deciever or grub as a teaser if you you want the duece dueces. The point on the river by the coast guard is good on the drop with 1/2 shad bodies, but not as good as the beach for the first schoolies.. Good luck

I had to be in Newburyport yesterday afternoon, so after some bidness was taken care of, my friends and I gave the river side a go around 5:00 pm. 15 minutes into it I landed a small schoolie on a worm. That was pretty much it for the day, as my 2 buds took the skunk (better them than me). Great day to be out in any event.
