Journey of my best fish ever
I thought I caught a rock until it started twitching. Then the line zinged and zinged..... and zinged....
my friend, acting silly in the first pic, had never been fishing for bass before. I can't imagine if I started today.
I gave plenty away and will have more than enough for the rest of the summer. I wont need another keeper until the fall
41.5 inches not sure of what it weighed.. we are guessing between 25-30lbs... guesses welcomed please.
its been a long summer full of dinks, this has re energized my
efforts. maybe the NJ fish are moving on up
took about 10 minutes to drag in...I had to shut the motor off because we were in 8ft of water with huge boulders right below the surface. it dragged us for a good 3 minute ride.
The power of these fish is unbelievable.
this is my best by over 10 inches. We were very excited.
in the boat at the launch
showing of my pipes
and the measurement is in... I am buying a scale tomorrow!
time to get building . she had two of these in her
not as exciting as bassy's stories... but was exciting none the less.

I wish i could say yes but I had a ton of worms left over from a trip cut short due to weather the other night and i didn't want to waste them... it was however a home-made tube and worm setup
next ones will be on the sluggo's, im still trying to figure that approach out.
Thanks guys,
I gotta say it was pretty cool and probably the highlight of my summer (so far ) My buddy now understands why this is such a big part of my life and why I talk about fishing so much. Its amazing how a fish like that can get everyone around you excited and in a good mood. I store my boat at my mom's house and she was kind enough to let me fillet it at her sink...pop's being an avid fisherman, she kept saying as it got messier, this isn't the first time we've had fish guts in here. I think it brought back alot of good memories, which she needs from time to time.
We had such a great time from launch to feast. We cooked her on the grill skin side down with an Olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, fresh lemon juice, fresh oregano, fresh chives, (all from the garden)parmesan baste and boy was it tasty. 2 bags in the freezer 2 bags distributed and dinner for three... She is going a long way.

Outstanding fish MrH!!! The pull of the line and the arc of the rod are addicting, no? Really good that you let the girl take line and played her right into your arms, and believe me, I get excited every time I catch any fish, doesn't matter what size or kind, I'm like a newbie every fish, especially at night, the unknown is so thrilling.
I'm always in the stones, in fact, I just bought a new 4 blade prop and will use my still brand new 3 blader for my spare and I always have my motor off while drifting and sometimes use the lower unit as a rudder depending on the drift, and when I know I'm in some danger zones, I tilt it all the way out of the water.
I am truly humbled by your acknowledgement of my stories, it is all I need for motivation since the writing about the experience is as close to reliving the event as I can get, however, I am glad you shared your pics since I always wish there were more af them as well as more stories, however, until the next fish, good eatin!

hehe... ironic huh spin? there was a worm at then end so it wasnt ALL artificial
which reminds me of the funniest part of the day.
Me: when you are putting the worm on the hook be careful because the worms have teeth.
Him: What? A worm with teeth? Your %*^%'in with me.
(converstation ensues while he holds a worm)
WHAAHAAAAAAAAHHH What the HELL! The &^%&^% bit me!
(i almost crash from not being able to see from laughing so hard)
its fun knowing when something is inevitable even after a warning.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
