The Wind, she was nasty...and the degree of temp was less than desirable... Casting Herring was like flying a kite!! ...but with that wind you didn't need to get out far....my herring was swimming parallel to me at times...and getting WHACKED!!!....
...Canal tonight?....any takers??...

Goose, I guess it didn't beat sleeping last night!!!... ...cuz you decided to sleep on a goodnight....
.....doesn't it always happen that way
...I took Milo out for a moonlight walk...but we couldn't find the moon. Instead we found Striped~Bass....about 20 fish between the both of us...it almost seemed harder to catch the herring, than it did to catch the bass..

ok.......I'm confused
.....A SKUNK has black and white stripes
....A STRIPER has black and white stripes
....Whats the deal with that?...how does a "skunk" mean a night with no fish??....
....shouldn't it be called a "Black Cat" night??...
...after all, they say if a black cat crosses your path, your getting bad luck......if a skunk crosses your path....PPPPPP-UKE!!
Anyone else run into fish last night?

I took a couple of guys from work out on Friday night. I went after work and got 25 herring. The fuse on the plug part of the cigarette lighter cord blew on the way home. The pump stopped and all the herring but one died. So now I had fresh dead, next time I am bringing the deep cell battery . Well anyway, the wind was blowing hard, and it had the fish pushed in. This place is usually good 2 hrs before the high till about 3-4 hrs after the high. I decided we should get down early so we could get a good spot, the place fills with weekend warriors. I was right, there were alot of people there. Most left once the wind started howling. The fish came in early, I got one on clams, then 15 minutes later another on clams. I got one more on fresh dead herring. I felt bad because none of the other guys caught anything. They said they had a great time, even though I did all the catching, and one of them took a bad tumble down a rip rap while fighting another fish, which he lost. He scraped his ear up pretty bad, it was bleeding like a faucet. I told him tp fight the fish from the top of the rip rap, and I would go down to the edge and grab the fish for him, but he did'nt listen. Oh well they are hooked and want to go again.

I went down to a spot a few streets over from my house Saturday night. Buckeyes were dropping out like Flies in a RAID fogger... The handfull of guys fishing the point were doing squat with live herring and I was getting many fish breaking behind my Black & Bronze Beachmastah but no takers - until I stopped to sneeze which really slowed my plug down to actually dropping back more and WHAM! Ok it was more like a wham 'cause it was a small keeper but it was a fish ... The others took off but I still managed to raise some fish...
Sucks walking across beach sand with a bum knee & now ankle but it is nice running "Down the street" to fish
