no consideration what so ever
for neighbors anymore. Having a second cup of coffee on the front porch this morning, Sunday, and around 9am. the retired guy down the street starts his
back pack. Freekin guy has no grass, just a driveway and a patio. Blows, who knows what, for 2 hrs. Then around noon ,the guy across the street
who never cuts his lawn, gets out his weed wacker and proceeds to cut it than uses a backpack to blow it into piles. What happened to
rakes. I just started the grill for supper, and the girl on the other street proceeds to blow her 20x20 driveway off with the large 8hp little
wonder blower that has needed a spark plug for the last 5 years. The thing starts, spits, sputters, stalls, she starts it again. She repeats it until
finally 1/2 hr later it's done. How about a broom lady. We named her, "stop and start".
We used to have an unwritten neighborhood code, that nobody cut their lawn til after 10am on Saturdays, and rarely if ever on Sunday.
Neighbors would stop by and talk, the kids would all play, and family members would come by to visit and have a meal. That's what
weekends were for. People just had consideration for others as maybe they wanted to sleep in, have a quiet morning, or have a meal in peace.
No more, it's i'm gonna do what i want to do when i want to do it. No consideration.

Different world, sad ta say .. and were all rushin around waaaay too fast.. I'm guilty too.. just got done cuttin my lawn, todays world ya gotta do chores when ya can cram them in, I guess... no so called "normal" work sched for me.. neighbors don't seem ta mind tho..... most all of them are out, except for 3 doors down, they got all their Harley buds over and have Led Zep crankin at about 30 on the stereo, coupla Harleys get started every 10 minutes and revved up for about 5 minutes, and there seems to be inordanite amounts of beer being drunk there too... bet they didn't even hear the lawnmower or weed whacker, good thing is they are all old men, and will crap out in an hour or so .. well gonna go split some wood now, till dark.. don't have a power one.. still swinging a Monster Maul... "how 70's", as my daughter would say

trash cannot be out the night before trash day.
no on street mailboxes.
the one good one they have is NO power landscaping on sundays!!
chainsaws,weedeaters,

The guy next door to me cuts his lawn with a rider every sunday at 7000 rpm! He bags it so there is almost no soil left...he also has all the other power amenities....I think he has a gas turbine tooth brush

Daughter was in bed tonight and asleep at 8:10pm when a JA with the loudest set of pipes on a bike I have ever heard revved it up and went blasting down the street. I was outside having a cigar and went in to the wife complaining about this A$$. I had enough time to go around the house and get a look at him. It was the second trip around the block. I could hear him well into the next town. Absolutely no consideration to my neighborhood or all the others he wound it up through. Just as bad as all the tricked out Mitsubishi Lancers with the Challenger tail fins and the rear seat bass tubes that think they are cool blasting the rap music at all hours....

Guess I'm lucky.......
My next door neighbor mows my lawn when I go away and adamantly refuses to take anything for it. First year, bought him a $50.00 certificate to a restaurant and he was pissed. Always mows during the day. I always look and see if they are using the three-season room before I start up. Guy across the street is good guy but he does mow by moonlight some nights. Uses headlights on tractor to get job done, but closing window takes care of noise.

The guy across the street used to fire up his Harley at 3:30AM and romp all over the throttle until it warmed up. I asked if he knew a good cab company in town. He said no, why. I told him that the hog might be gone some morning if it keeps waking me up. He putts down the street now.

When i mow our yard, its always in the afternoon, never in the morning.. And i always have my mp3 player (not an ipod, my 20 dollars cheapy ) and headphones, playing some pink floyd. And its rather funny, cause whenever we do, our neighbor runs over and gets his lawnmower and starts to mow. And its just us that live up our lane.. So i guess it doesn't really bother anyone.

This is out of control, the old guy next store sits in his chair from when he gets up and yells all day long to his wife daughter and grand kids, he sits there and drinks a 3, 1/2 gallons of Seagrams a week, then he gets out his BB gun and starts or tries to shoot squirls. BB's are whistling over our heads as we sit by the pool,He has the music (I don't like) so loud and he is yelling over it. this goes on from about 9am to 9pm everyday
this guy can't walk for some unknown reason so he has a walker or he carries the chair and rests as he tries to move from one spot to the other. I think he is in his 60's

Bob
3 plus half gallons of Seagrams 7 a week, I'd need a little help walkin' too, prolly have a crap attitude, and be swearin' and shootin at squirls too... send the "door knocker" people over to see him, sounds like they could help each other.. might be fun to watch too.

The reason why I know that is when we walk on Monday night I look in there recycle and the emties are in there, I have concidered the cops and it may come to that, I did put up a 6 foot wood fence so I don't have to look at them. we both have 1.25 acres and shouldn't hear him at all

That's a tough situation Bob. We had an older neighbor similar to him, who started in when he retired. It was the beginning of some kind of dementia. Not much you can do. If the police will visit without him knowing it was you who complained, it might start him or her thinking about some help. However, if he finds out it was you he may have a new target for his BB gun.

And I thought it was annoying when the neighbor dog came over and stole socks/underwear/stuffed animals. I feel lucky. Though the huge-arse dog from down the road likes to trot over, scare the crap out of me, eat my leftovers, and pee on my flowers. He almost ate the little neighbor dog one day -- I had to kick him, and I'm not a dog kicker. After seeing that, I'm scared of him, so I always give him food so he goes away. I never notice mowing, though. Maybe I'm a heavy sleeper.
