Fishsmith that would BE the last thing I would ever DO. Stars and Stripes forever.
These fish was hungry. One silverside in his belly when I filleted him and nothing else what so ever.

It sure would be nice if some bigger fish pushed all those twinkies out of there.

We found ALL classes of fish today DJig. They were headed south like a freight train.
I have never in my life run and gunned for bass like we had to today.

I'm on it Mike, headed out now I think its gonna be a long night.
PM me or call me when you get back and I'll let you know whats going on.
Nantucket was ok for blues, had a nice afternoon in 10 lb class blues, but it was absolutely dead for bass. The weather sucked for the south shore, we had 20-25+wind every night, so we stuck mostly to the rips. I would never have believed this possible but we fished that surf all week, second week of october and did not get or see a single bass caught, and thats fishing 3-4 hours every night in a place that ALWAYS produces at this time of year...
I'm not sure if it was the seals keeping them out of the surf or not but the seals were all over the place, at the base of the rips, even at night, all night long. There were 15 blues taken by seals in one spot one afternoon.

Just a continuation of TwinkiePalooza 2006. Every 50th dink, you get a hook-up with something that can actually pull of 10 yards of drag And maybe once or twice a night, something actually halfway decent finds your jig before the clusters of schoolies start fighting over it oke:
I figured, throw big Ronz eels, or 9" Sluggos, to try to cull out the runts. Nope, not a chance
I'll bet you'd have 14" bass trying to inhale a 9" Storm or Tsunami

Sorry Mike we had no fish like that yesterday, and they were all headed south so it looked like last nites tide was going to be a good one.
I wasn't jigging though

MikeP, same thing where I was except I never ran into anything other than the shorts. I got frustrated and moved to a different spot but the only thing there was less shorts.
Then to top it off at 2am I hit something in the road in the rain and blew a tire. Oh well, maybe tonight.

DJ,
Try eels instead of jigs if you can lower yourself to using them. Not getting monsters, but culling out the dinks and catching mid to high teen stuff. Was actually catching dinks on a bare jig head the other night. They will eat anything right now. Maybe try some french fries or cannolis tonight....

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole

BB, glad you got thru em and had a good night. I've got no problem throwing eels, in fact some of the places I fish thats all I throw.
Guys, just a heads up the guy I was fishing next to last night told me he had his car stolen the night before when he was fishing capeside by the sagamore.

Crackheads and lobster poachers love that place--hard to see them doing their thing. I thought I saw a police car make a pass thru there last night, and the EPOs have also been on the job there.
Last night there was a guy with his hood pulled over his face (on a warm night for October) walking thru the parking lot towards the rest room---which anyone who lives around here knows is a) closed for the year, and b) even in season, closed well before 2 AM. After trying both the men's and ladies' room doors, he walked off to the east along the service road--no rod, no tackle, hands in his pockets.
Was he looking for a place to shoot up? Looking to rip someone off who was sitting on the throne and fairly helpless? If he really had to go, he could have hit the gas station up the road if he had to make "#2".

Finally dragged my arse out of bed for the second time this morning with the zombie woof behind my eyes.. Fish the canal last nite after work. Figured I might as well since I have to go over the bridge to get home. Nothing but small fish as stated before. Nice weather though. Home at 3. Was fun trying to get a 6 year old ready for the bus this morning at 8. Why does she have to be a slave to fashion at the age of 6 Going to blow a gale this afternoon and tomorrow so maybe something will happen. P.
