Larchmont, NY Area for stripers???
 Hiya all, during Turkey day week I will be in Larchmont stuffing myself full of family cheer
I'm in seach of a place not to far from larchmont to fling a few flies at stripers and if I hook a few I know who's face I will be hooking into  ........Anyone know of such a place?
my fishing area is along the Maine coast....

I checked that out last year, it's a definite posibility and was looking for a few fall backs.

Maybe I should ask this question first, will their be any stripers in the larchmont area at the end of this month?

yes ... in years past, we used to slam them ... and good-size fish up into early December in the Rye, Larchmont area on flies, swimming plugs, etc. There was a herring run that took place and we would be the only boat around hundreds of yards of breaking fish ... That was in the late 1980s, have not been down there in more than 10 years, but could still be going on.

Thanks all for your help,
I'm planning to introduce my 12 year old nephew to seabass, I want to come with a nice, but not expensive spinning rod for this even as a gift.....I was looking at the rods in walmart and they are just the $$ investment I want to make, but the choices overwhelmed me. What pound test line should I be looking for to chase stripers on a spinning rod?
I visited NY F&G and from what I can gather as in NH & ME you don't need a saltwater license, am I right?

I just found out that Manor Park in Larchmont Harbor does not allow any fishing at all.
Does anyone know if they have posted signs???
