Smaller and smaller the bass I caught at the river mouth!

Hi S-B:

I have fished twice since last Thursday and most of what I caught were schollee around 12" some of them even smaller than 12".
I am wonder where the fishes are at this period of time.

Two weeks ago, the average fishs at the P.I. river mouth is around 25" and occasionally I will hit a few less than 15", but started from last Thursday I found most of us who uses clam for bait have similar experience in catching schollee below 20" whereas those using Herring have better luck (from what I asked and saw).

By the way, I did land one 34" last Thursday but never land any fish between 34" and 25" since then. I guess the big stripers might not be around the river mouth or they might not prefer clam. May be they are tracing some big bait fishes somewhere else. Any suggestations ? Should I change my bait to herring or mack now?
