Yet another E-Tex question

Some (OK, most) of the plugs I E-texed are not very smooth, and I'd like to add a second coat. Is it best to sand them smooth before adding the second coat?

Thanks

I don't think this should be necessary.

Have you played around with the mix/temp/rotation etc...?

I've probably tried about everything short of a spinner. That's next on my list.

Can you post a photo?

I've done all my plugs with E-Tex using a brush and just hanging and flipping by hand. Never had a problem unless my mix with too thick or didn't pay attention...

Check out my Alice Cooper Eyes post. I've got a few plug picts on there. They are not my worst, but still not very smooth.

They don't look to bad, I heat mine up to make it thinner, I put it on with an acid brush Make sure the mix is 50/50 and use a lighter to pop the bubbles asap.

What I do is use a light to keep them warm.

Highpockets,,,,, I use Devcon II,,,, I have found that flipping and using it at room temp ,, no light, no heat,,,, works best,,,,,, IF you ave a spinner then heat is the way to go,,,, might be the same with etex,,,,, give it a try
