Grump Pt2. My Son's Health
I hate viruses.
I hate sickness
I hate hospitals
I hate seeing my son wired up with oxygen, IV, and other monitors.
I hate seeing him feel so much better (he had RSV - been in the hospital since Friday) and yet not be able to go home yet because his oxygen levels are still low when he sleeps.
I want him to come home now.
Now.

Sorry you have to through that, Brian. I don't think there is anything worse then having and seeing your kids very sick. Hope he comes home real quick.

Just got back from the hospital, he slept the night.. which is REALLY good.. he woke up laughing which is fantastic... but the oxygen is still low.
Looks like its going to be at least one more night. Possibly two.
Its looking MUCH better, its just been a VERY long week.

Not that I clearly remember sleeping in a tent sheet with the steamer close by becasue I could breath, but I had to do that when I was little numerous times. Mom said I used to turn blue and she had to run up the street to the doctor's office a few times and his only treatment was a shot of adrenilan to get my heart beating faster. O/2 counts were unheard of. Doctor Bill's only other advice was put him outside he'll grow out of it. Now that I sit here writing this post I am wondering how many kids didn't because of the standard of care then. Your lucky in that respect Brian with all the great things available to us now for treatment that wasn't around iin the fifties. Where is he at the Morton?

Yep
Pediatric ward at Morton.
Luckily less than 2 miles from the house so we have been easily able to clean bottles and get stuff as needed.
Ive heard alot of stories about kids needing tents etc in the last few days... This is a scary business... I would not wish this on anyone.

good luck Brian - kids are tough but us parents get scared bleepless... I remember my son when he had siezures when he was really young. Scared the daylights out of us. But now you'd never know it...
Best wishes for your boy...

update
the doctor is stil very happy with his progress, his oxygen is still low though when he sleeps.. he is taking 1/2 liter which is almost undetectable out of the hose when i try to feel it..
looks like Sunday is the most likely ETA for a return home, but still possibly tomorrow
