Quad rod dryers

It just doesn't make much sense to dry one rod at a time when you can do four, consider the time and money it takes.
What are your experiences with either the Rodsmith's Qaud or OEM power drying unit? Would it make more sense to build my own drying system useing different motors? any advice, pics... Appreciated!

I'm sure those quad dryers are nice but wow $$$.

I think with a little thought you could make your own quad/tri/bi with 1 motor not 4, 4 sheaves, 4 clutches (rod grabbers) and a long oring.

Your just drying, don't need much torque but it has to be dependable as to not stop a rod before it is done.

For rod supports your don't really need sheaves, a felt lined V and some tape over the blank has little resistance when spinning slow.

After your sone making your rig you can mount it in a nice clean plywood box with 2 40W lightbulbs for a heat source. That really cuts down the drying time and will keep some airbourne dirt off them. My cellar isn't real free of airbourne dust so this I may build someday.
