M&Ds used to have it several years ago - not sure if they still do. I wrapped a couple with it. Kinda like it but not overjoyed with it....

tough in hands in cold damp weather, also tough on waders if you put rod between legs.

Doesn't rip too much but the rods I use it on are not my primetime surf rods so it doesn't get abused as much. I like it but it does not have the comfort and give of cork tape...

potential source

Jim,

Try this place - found the link somewhere else: http://www.safewaytraction.com/Safet...onSlipTape.htm. I think that you can get it in smaller widths. I was thinking about ordering some, but have some cork tape left still.

I HATE that crap! It's like if you wrapped your rod w/30 grit sandpaper...

And that's definately NOT a place I want to go when I'm fishing (to reference Flap's reply)

I've never used it. My Loomis 965 has a cork handle, as does my LR 842.

My 9' Loomis is a custom built with regular cork tape.

I would like my 1266S to be less rough. I was thinking of trying to sand the tape down with a sanding block or would it be better to just replace the stuff with cork?

Jim, I have about a half roll of the 3M tape. If you want, I can send you some. PM me your address and how much you want.

I have two Loomis rods with the rough tape, and between the two of them they are used for most of my fishing. I have never had it bother my hands It is shredding the stiching and pilling the neoprene of my Rampage top between my side and on the sleeve where I hold the butt though
