Name My Fly Rods Please!!
Note for the Moderators...This is in no way a solicitation...
As some of you may or may not know I manufacture my own line of fly reels. Those from some of the other fishing boards probably do. Anyway, I am now in the process of comming out with a full line of fly rods from 4#-12# weight. My brand name is COLTON after my son. I have named the freshwater line of rods from 4#-7# "Slipstream". Now I need a catchy name for my 8-12# saltwater rods. Loomis uses Cross Current, great name. I am having writers block on the name for my saltwater rods. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. I have been stuggling with this for some time now and the rods are ready to go to print.
Thanks boys, FH

Noticed there was a rod giveaway on another board for the best name. Wondering if we can get in on the same. Whata ya say foulhook?

I guess I forgot to post the rod give away on here. I put this on several sites. Who ever from which ever site picks the winning name actually gets a rod and reel...So far I am going with TRADEWINDS (bassbarn member) If you guys can beat it I will still have to give him a rod and reel as promised, but I'd give a second away if one of you guys come up with a name that really grabs me!!
Need to have the name by the end of the evening though!

I think a short abbreviation works well since you already have a name - Colton.
Something like a Colton DH2 (maybe for double haul squared, or simply the buyers imagination) You can use the 2 standard or superscript as "squared"
This give you a line of rods that can expand to "Colton DH3", Colton DHX, etc.
It also makes it easy for internet communication like "what should I buy, a glx, ticr or dh2 for my first fly rod?"

Best regards,
Roger

I did pick a winner from thebassbarn who came up with "Tradewinds" Although, I am waiting on a cork delivery from Portugal so I still have time to rename if something better comes along. Obviously I promised the winner a rod already but if a better name comes along I don't mind giving away two freebies.
Just make sure to google search your name. I found that alot of the names I liked are already taken. I don't want to get into a trademark issue..
