Sibling scammed on Ebay

My sister just got whacked for $350...I've never heard of this before.

She was outbid on a Pottery Barn rug, then received a second chance offer...from a scammer.

It looks like they just used her Ebay username for a fake second chance email I'd assume was sent to Yahoo, MSN, Cox etc... addresses to see if one would strike. And she did

Ok, so she made some really stupid mistakes along the way.

So the second chance seller (who had nothing to do with the real seller) told her he was in the UK, and while he took PayPal, the account was currently broken and would really appreciate if she wired the money so he could access it immediately.

The rest is history. Thank goodness she used a CC for the wire transfer, perhaps her only recourse.

So as careful as you think you are, be a little more
