How strong is a fly line?

I've thought about this but never asked.
10wt? 12wt? 14wt? just how strong ARE they?

It depends on the core of the line but usually in the 30to50 lb range.

Saxatilus is basically right on. More are closer to 30 then 50 though.

There are "big game" lines from several companies that are rated at 50, 65, and I think Rio made a custom run for sBFT fishing that was even higher.
