Stipers in the Hudson

Drove up to my parents in upstate NY. Drove through Troy and saw allot of boat traffic on the Hudson, I assume were targetting stripers. Also noticed a white bucket brigade across the river on a concrete wall...

Could easily have been, maybe shad, white perch? I was down in New York last week, lower Manhattan and I didn't see a thing.

Yea it could have been. It's that time of the year.
The water is still very high out this way. I can't get to my, "this time of the year" spot.

Be encouraging, not discouraging

Drove accross the Tappan Zee Bridge yesterday, there was a big fleet in Haveastraw bay, undoubtedly targeting stripers.

Always worth checking the other side too, the old East River has a lot of great water worth covering

Smile

i have hooked some ferocious 30+ lbers as far as the battery park seawall/ferry landing (southern edge of Manhattan) and have watched birds diving on blitzes as far north as Newburgh.

incredible blitz fishing, second only to Montauk in Oct.
