Interesting sight last night......
Whilst walking out onto a point to cast for school bass I heard a crash in the water behind me less than 30 feet away. I turned back to see an Osprey rising form the water with a flounder in his talons.
The flounder was not happy and wiggling like crazy. The water was about two feet deep. I have seen ospreys take schoolies and trout etc. but a flounder was a new experience.
The school bass fishing is s-l-o-w.

Still slow. You in the usual haunts. My bro in law had an osprey drop a bluefish into the yard during a barbecue once. I t almost went on the grill.

Very cool story Flap.
Watch an Osprey stalk something last night and then give up.
Saw the elusive resident river otter last night too.

Yeah Paul, water is dirty and cold, brrr. Fish hard and the best I can do is 3 a night. Should be wall to wall. Bait is there, lots of small (4-5 inch pogies and silversides)
I need to come see you about enlarging the slots on my rod holders. What night is good?

Come on down. Any night but Fri.. After 7 PM. Work is crazy right now as a few guys have left and we can't find any replacements so guess who's life gets crazy If I am busy you can leave and pick up a day or 2 later if that is ok. Bring George too as I have a couple of things for him or I will give to you to give to him.

There is a million dollar plus mansion on the water that I fish in front of ( no it is not mine), the house has two chimneys and is done in and old Cape style. Both Chimneys have nests three feet high on them wioth birds in them. The upper deck is loaded with sticks and small logs and all kinds of junk from the birds and I can just imagine the goo oozing down the flues. Ick.

Eek!
Was digging in my bag, which was atop the concrete wall in front of the light house at The Hill, late one night when an opossum waddled into the beam of my head lamp. Dumb little bastard was only 3 feet in front of me, but at least he was on the other side of the fence.

Ospreys are awesome to watch work. There was a nesting pair on the old Tramway tower at ColdStorage beach back in the day. They were fascinating to watch. The tower is long gone but a pair still works the bayside beach in the Spring. Good to see old friends.

Several years ago I had grab a small in front of me and fly around showing it off to me. All this while I catch nothing. Maybe I was taking it a little personal.
