I've got a short bed now, but this rack has been my last 3 trucks.
Had to give it a nice coat of fresh paint though to put it in the truck I drive now.

Mac,
How do you keep that from sliding? I don't see tiedowns or fasteners...

In my truck Peter I have a bedliner with these "slots" molded into the side! So because I did not want to screw or bolt it into the bedsides, and I wanted it easy to remove I built a 1 piece rack from 2 by 4's that is kept in place by the molded slots in the bedliner....holds 9 rods, my big igloo cooler.....all kinds of room! Cost me a couple hours and about $20.00 worth of 2 by 4's and hardware! I will post a pic shorly!

I used 1/4" x 3" lags. I know it's crude but then again it is a truck.

I haave a short bead, I took a 2 X 12 and cut long enough to go in the slots of my bed liner.
Added 6 plastic rod holders $5 each at walfart. Works great. I am now making a piece to go from the stake holes across the back to hold down the tips on long rides, they bounce pretty good in my short bed. But far from hitting anything.

This one is made of 3/4" and 2x4 cedar. Fits inside bed liner.
13 years old, held up pretty good.
