Can anybody date that Spofford needle? It's plastic and has a Marthas Vinyard address.

Spofford started making lures on MV in the late 1970s, give or take. He made them until he died about 10-12 years ago. His widow tried to keep the company going afterwards. I'm not sure whether the Roberts guy bought them or they finally went under. I still see a handful of Spofford lures here and there.

Congrats Biteme, very nice find! Have to love them Romans
Mike P is also on the money, but a few years back I was fishing and ran into Spofford's ,,, I think son-inlaw ? Very nice guy! He told me that he was still making some and as I remember, he gave me one or 2
They were much smaller as we were fishing for Albies
