T - I think they switched the MDA tourney weekend with Tri-State, so the last weekend of OCT will be Tri-State and the MDA might be the second weekend of Oct... Hope to have more clarification soon...
BTW - If anyone's interested, S-B may field a team this year

Re: MDA surf tournament
Toby and John,
The MDA will be on October 18th, 19th and 20th. Jim McKeough will be sending out the invites in about a week or so.

last year was tough for most clubs. i think i only managed two or three fish entered, with the biggest only going like 26 pounds. i did, however, snap a spro jig in half on a fish the second night. it was the last time i will ever throw one of those!!!!
we will be dealing with a full moon this time around. not my favorite, but i can always hope for an overcast weekend!

the mda is a surf only charity tournament with several legs, one being the rhode island leg in the fall. the weekapaug b&t shop is the contest headquarters for that leg. the fishing area traditionally has been from narragansett to napatree. teams of anglers from many southern new england clubs compete for several awards including largest bass, blue, and overall team combined weights of 3 largest bass and blues. proceeds go to the mda (muscular dystrophy association).

I did it the first time last year. They had a huge spread of food at the Andrea, I was half asleep but had a good time.
