another alien plug born
I have pretty good luck on my small plastic version of this plug. I know nubskull has had good results. His post a while ago on the building of this helped. It was my first and last, I really need a lathe. but it swims real nice, so will shall see. thanks numbskull for the motivation to try a handcrave predator

Numbskull , never stopped fishing the plastic version of that plug ..That plug goes down on the retrieve.. reel it in steady about ten yds.,,,pause .. it will float back up to the surface ,,this is when you get wacked... if not repeat . I got a lesson from Numby .. Canal Man has his own way of fishing it too . Numby told me the guy that invented that plug was a genius .. Nice job .. a lot of work handcarving that .

I make the 6" ,,,, the big one ,,, I made it weghted with 1 00 buckshot behind belly hook and I made it unweighted .. Numby told me last outing, weighted is the way to go . I'll send you a blank of mine to keep/copy if you want .

You have good reason to be proud of that plug.........no easy task to build something like that without a lathe. Very impressive! Looks like it will work well, good luck with it. Post some pictures of what you catch.

Thanks, after reading Taggers post wishing I had put a 00 in belly. How much deeper, or different does the 00 make to action. I tried to remove the rear hook with a teaser and it didn't swim nearly as good.

You said your making the smaller verison .. Right ..maybe no weight is good .. I like the way it swims with no weight but overall (casting) probably better plug with it . The big one works well with 3/0 vmc front and rear .

That is very close to the original plastic. Should do fine the way it is.
