first trip to maine.....looking for fish from surf

This is my first time fishing maine this week (july 30-august 6) I am staying near searsport 45 min south of bar harbor..............any surf fishing spots i shouldn't miss. I looking for nice scenic views.......ease from the car......fish?
Got kids and like to bring them along to fish also.

A bit of a hike, but Popham State Beach at the mouth of the Kennebec is a good spot.

Bring wire leaders, lots of med. sized blues the those thar waters. Just fished it all of last night.
