that was what i was trying to say in my original babble...
the process....i hate the process
i tried something different.. told the young eager salesman the did the 50 yard dash across the lot to me, like a bluefish going after a kastmaster...
"You can show me the car, and let me drive it.. IF we get to the talking stage... I'm gonna sit down with your boss.. not you.. sorry, that's the way it's gonna be."
he looked like i had hit him with a baseball bat.. recovered.. and said.. "Uh.. OK".. got the keys and the plate for me.
I actually ended up going thru the sales manager, and ended up with the owner

.. after 2 long hours at the sales desk
keep one thing in mind.. you can leave anytime.. they don't want you too, and sometimes will try to not let you!.. and don't think because your financing, you can't get tough in the negotiations... no matter where you end up... they still made money, always remember that.
I would never buy this car for myself, but it will suit the wife's, and family needs, to a tee.
I cannot believe how far that Ford has come on this platform.. it is the Explorer platform..and it gives a tremendous ride. The interior noise is almost nill... too quiet.. almost. Lightyears of difference between this generation of the vehicle, and the earlier ones.
But, being of an old fashioned off road mind set, i look underneath, see all this new fangled light duty running gear... and am real glad that it will not go off road while we own it... the Expedition never saw the beach, never saw anything rougher than my road that i live on.. and this will be the same.
