The Beckett Statement

I knew he was good but I can't recall a post season pitching performance that good in all the years I've been watching. Talking about sending a message and setting the bar!

Pedro when he came out of the bullpen against Cleveland in Game 5 and No-hit them....that was great performance.

Don't get me wrong, Beckett was awesome last night.....but the angels were a bit banged up, I mean they had a guy with only 1 eye in the lineup last night.

Beckett's last post-season performance was even better--complete game, 2 hit shutout of the Yankees in the deciding Game 6 of the 2003 WS.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

bigger for him but i doubt it will feel the same if he wins it with the sox.

The 2 things about the announcers that stuck out in my mind were:

1: When they forgot how many outs there were, and called a ground out to second as a possible double play when we had 2 outs.

2: The 8th inning, when Beckett gave up a hit, they were trying to sound like they actually knew something about the sport. Saying that because the ball wasn't spinning as fast as an earlier pitch, that Beckett was "starting to faulter". Then he goes and throws one hellova slider, and they're speechless. I mean, the pitch had the lefty batter FROZEN because it looked like it was inside, until it hooked back in over the strike zone for a called 3rd strike. It was a masterpiece to see.
